Key Responsibilities:

Paralegal Duties:

  • Draft and file legal documents including complaints, motions, discovery requests/responses, and subpoenas.
  • Manage case files and maintain organized documentation.
  • Conduct legal research and summarize findings.
  • Assist attorneys in trial preparation, including exhibit organization and witness coordination.
  • Monitor deadlines and court schedules using calendaring software.

Legal Secretary Duties:

  • Prepare correspondence and format legal documents.
  • Schedule meetings, depositions, and court appearances.
  • Maintain attorney calendars and ensure timely filings.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, court staff, and opposing counsel.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as billing, filing, and document management.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in civil litigation as a paralegal and/or legal secretary.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
  • Strong understanding of California civil procedure and court filing systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and ability to multitask.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with trial preparation and attendance.
  • Familiarity with e-filing systems (state and federal and appellate).
