POSITION DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Finance Manager with experience working with federal funding. This position plays a crucial role in managing and overseeing financial activities related to federal grants, contracts, and funding for an organization. This position requires a deep understanding of federal regulations and compliance, as well as strong financial management skills. Specific to this role, the Finance Manager will oversee a multi-year federal project with a number of sub awardees. The Finance Manager will work closely with various departments and stakeholders to ensure that federal funds are utilized efficiently and in accordance with all applicable guidelines and regulations. This position will report to the CFO.

ROLE/RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Planning and Budgeting:

  • Manage the financial reporting for a multi-year nationwide federal project.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor budgets for other federal-funded programs or projects as necessary.
  • Collaborate with program managers and project leads to ensure budgets align with project goals and objectives.
  • Provide financial projections and analysis to support grant and contract applications.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with federal regulations, guidelines, and reporting requirements for all federal grants and contracts.
  • Review and approve sub awardee invoices for accuracy and payment.
  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely financial reports to federal agencies or other funding sources.
  • Maintain detailed records and documentation to support audit and compliance requirements.

Financial Analysis and Risk Management:

  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities related to federal funding.
  • Develop strategies to mitigate financial risks and optimize resource allocation.
  • Work with stakeholders to make data-driven financial decisions.

Financial Controls:

  • Follow established financial controls to prevent fraud, waste, and abuse of federal funds.
  • Implement and enforce financial policies and procedures to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Conduct site visits to various sub awardees to ensure their compliance with federal regulations.

Relationship Management:

  • Maintain positive relationships with federal funding agencies and external partners.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for federal funding-related inquiries and communications.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff members on federal funding regulations and compliance.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Several years of experience in financial management, with a focus on federal funding and grants management.
  • Strong knowledge of federal regulations, compliance requirements, and financial reporting standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools, including Excel, financial management systems, and accounting software. Sage Intacct is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of the nonprofit organization.
  • Ability and willingness to work in a virtual environment

LOCATION

The location of this position is remote with travel to sub awardees, but employee must live in the United States.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The annual salary range for this position is $65,00-$80,000 depending on qualifications and experience. In addition to working remotely, Hispanic Access offers full-time employees a generous benefits package that includes a 100% paid health, dental, and vision for the individual, an unlimited vacation policy, 10 sick days per year, 13 paid holidays, a monthly phone/internet stipend and a 401(k) plan with employer match.
