Job Description
Structural Welder/Ironworker
Pay Rate: $20 /hr + DOE
Responsibilities:
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding specifications to determine the appropriate welding process.
Operate and maintain a variety of tools and equipment, including welding machines, cutting torches, grinders, and rigging gear.
Ensure all welds meet quality standards and are free from defects.
Perform rigging and hoisting of steel members using cranes and other lifting equipment.
Inspect and maintain welding equipment to ensure proper function and safety.
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations on the job site.
Collaborate with other team members, including engineers, project managers, and other tradespeople, to ensure project success.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Structural Welder, Ironworker, or in a similar role.
Current certification from a recognized welding institution is highly preferred.
Proficiency in various welding processes, particularly Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW or "stick welding") and Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW).
Strong knowledge of structural steel construction and the ability to interpret complex blueprints and technical drawings.
Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
Physical stamina and the ability to work at heights, in various weather conditions, and lift heavy materials.
Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices, including OSHA standards.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
