Job Description & RequirementsNorTek Medical Staffing is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to support the PASS (Pre-Admission Surgical Services) Department at a community-based hospital in Mammoth Lakes, California. This role plays a key part in ensuring a smooth and safe preoperative process by coordinating assessments, documentation, and communication across interdisciplinary teams.
Position Overview The PASS RN develops and implements individualized plans of care based on medical and nursing diagnoses, ensuring compliance with anesthesia pre-op testing guidelines and PASS Center workflows. This position requires strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and attention to detail. Responsibilities Coordinate and communicate case information with anesthesia providers Arrange and track consultations with Hospitalists Review labs, imaging, test results, and medical histories in a timely manner Escalate critical information using independent clinical judgment Perform preoperative nursing assessments (in-person or by phone) Document assessments and care activities in the electronic health record Schedule labs, testing, and PAT visits per protocol Collaborate with PACU and interdisciplinary teams, including Total Joint services Address post-care concerns and ensure continuity of care Qualifications Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license (required) Current BLS certification (AHA or American Red Cross) Strong communication, coordination, and assessment skills Schedule & Compensation Per Diem Varied day shifts Hourly rate based on qualifications and experience Benefits 401(k) Paid Time Off Why This Opportunity Work in a close-knit, collaborative hospital environment Play a vital role in surgical patient safety and care coordination Enjoy the lifestyle and community of Mammoth LakesNortek Medical Staffing, Inc.
