Nephrology - Physician at SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital - SSM Health summary:

The Transplant Nephrologist at SSM Health-Saint Louis University Hospital provides comprehensive kidney transplant care including pre- and post-transplant patient management. This full-time academic role involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, program development, community outreach, teaching, and research. Candidates are expected to hold board certifications and possess leadership and research experience in transplant nephrology.

SSM Health-Saint Louis University Hospital, in collaboration with Saint Louis University School of Medicine, is seeking a Transplant Nephrologist to join our expanding transplant program. This full-time academic position includes a faculty appointment at Saint Louis University, with rank commensurate with experience and qualifications. Preference will be given to candidates at the Associate or Full Professor level.

Position Overview:
The successful candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary team of transplant nephrologists, surgeons, coordinators, and administrative staff, contributing to all aspects of kidney transplant care and program development, including:

  • Pre-transplant care: Evaluation of transplant candidates
  • Post-transplant management: Oversight of immunosuppression, complications, and co-morbidities in both inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Program development and outreach: Strategic growth and community engagement
  • Academic responsibilities: Teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows
  • Research contributions: Participation in clinical, population-based, or basic science research

Required Qualifications:

  • Board Certification in Internal Medicine and Nephrology
  • Valid medical license
  • Formal training and dedicated experience in Transplant Nephrology

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated leadership and administrative capabilities
  • Proven track record in research or quality improvement productivity
