Summary Description

A Mortgage Operations Manager oversees all aspects of the mortgage lending process, from application to closing, ensuring efficient and compliant operations. This includes managing resources, training staff, and implementing process improvements to enhance loan processing and customer service.

Responsible for the administration and coordination of all loan processing and/or default management functions as well as the corresponding operational functions. Makes business decisions and supports the implementation and administration of the policies and procedures for the assigned area/areas to ensure compliance with various regulators, investor, government and corporate expectations and requirements.

Manages and collaborates with support department employees, supervisors and managers on matters regarding departmental process and procedures to improve efficiency and enhance delivery of service to internal partners, customers, regulators, investors and other constituents. Plans, develop, implement and execute business plans for assigned areas of responsibility.

Position Requirements

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in mortgage lending operations, including loan processing, underwriting, and closing.
  • Familiarity with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Ability to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A detail-oriented approach to work.
  • Experience in managing and developing a team.
  • A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (Realtors and individuals) becomes necessary.
