MUST HAVE

  • 6+ months of Medical Assistant experience, including externship.
  • Excellent customer service skills and proven reliability.
  • Ability to float between clinic locations in Salem and Keizer.

***Must be open to getting National Medical Assistant Certification (RMA, NCMA, AAMA, NCCT, etc.) within 1 year of starting***

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team, responsible for rooming 12-15+ patients a day. The Medical Assistant will work closely with a specific physician, assisting in patient care and administrative tasks. This role requires a compassionate individual capable of delivering excellent patient service in a team-based environment.

Responsibilities

  • Room 12-15+ patients daily and assist physicians who see an average of 15+ patients a day.
  • Refill patient prescriptions and complete prior authorizations.
  • Chart patient information in electronic medical records (Epic).
  • Take and record vitals, with a focus on accurate manual blood pressure readings.
  • Communicate test results to patients, which constitutes 40-50% of the workday.
  • Work within a team to ensure coverage in case of absences.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with medical assisting and patient care.
  • Proficiency in taking vitals and accurate blood pressure readings.
  • Ability to effectively use electronic medical records, particularly Epic.
  • Strong communication and phone skills.
  • Experience in scheduling and prescription adjustments.

Work Environment

This position offers a Monday to Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with an initial training period of 5x8-hour shifts, transitioning to 4x10-hour shifts. The work environment is friendly and supportive, with a strong tenure of Medical Assistants and a smaller clinic setting. The primary location is inside Salem Hospital, with occasional floating to the Keizer clinic. The clinic values early diagnosis, patient attentiveness, and education, primarily serving a geriatric population.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
