Job Details COMMERCIAL LITIGATION LEGAL ASSISTANT
A well-established Chicago law firm seeks an experienced Commercial Litigation Legal Assistant to provide high-level administrative support to their litigation team. The ideal candidate will have extensive e-filing experience, strong technical skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Support 3-4 attorneys with day-to-day litigation administrative needs
- Draft and finalize court documents for electronic filing
- Handle electronic court filings in federal and Illinois state courts
- Arrange third-party services including depositions and service of process
- Maintain attorney schedules and track critical case deadlines
- Produce correspondence and documents from digital dictation
- Organize case files using firm document management systems
- Process new client matters and engagement documentation
- Monitor incoming communications and prioritize action items
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years supporting litigation attorneys
- Proficient with e-Filing
- Working knowledge of Chicago-area court systems and procedures
- Strong document production skills including legal citations
- High-level Microsoft Office capabilities and PDF editing
- Comfortable with legal billing software and time tracking
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Detail-oriented with strong proofreading skills
- Self-directed and able to handle competing priorities
- Professional presence and discretion with confidential matters
