This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-stakes personal injury cases and be directly involved in every phase of the litigation process. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, is detail-oriented, and takes ownership of their work. In this role, you will play a critical part in trial preparation and case management, working side-by-side with attorneys and clients to drive successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Case Management

  • Manage active litigation caseloads, including deadlines, hearings, and court filings.
  • Serve as a key liaison between clients and the legal team, providing regular updates and tracking client recovery progress.
  • Organize and maintain case files for accessibility and accuracy.
  • Coordinate with clients, witnesses, experts, and opposing counsel to schedule depositions, hearings, and meetings.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to assigned legal assistants, while maintaining overall responsibility for case progress.

Legal Research & Drafting

  • Conduct legal research on case law, statutes, and regulations relevant to ongoing matters.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and correspondence under attorney supervision.
  • Prepare and file documents with courts and administrative agencies, ensuring compliance with all applicable rules and procedures.

Discovery Support

  • Assist in all aspects of discovery, including drafting and responding to interrogatories, requests for production, and admissions.
  • Oversee document collection, production, and review, including the use of e-discovery tools.
  • Coordinate document exchanges and deposition scheduling with clients and opposing parties.

Trial Preparation & Support

  • Prepare trial materials, including exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders.
  • Work with expert witnesses on scheduling, communications, and report collection.
  • Provide in-courtroom support during trial by managing exhibits, witnesses, and logistics.

Administrative Support

  • Manage attorney calendars, schedule appointments, and handle correspondence.
  • Maintain billing records and assist with client invoicing.
  • Collaborate with other paralegals to support both pre-litigation and litigation teams.
  • Perform additional tasks as needed to ensure the smooth operation of the legal department.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate from an accredited institution (preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience as a personal injury litigation paralegal with trial presence required.
  • Strong legal research and drafting skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of litigation procedures, court rules, and e-filing systems.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a client-focused approach.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters with discretion.
