Purpose of Position:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Temporary Employment Law Consultant to assist our team in reviewing and crafting job descriptions. This position is ideal for individuals in the legal field, whether a recent graduate or a retired professional looking to contribute their expertise.

Accountabilities:

• Review and update existing job descriptions to ensure compliance with current employment laws and regulations.
• Collaborate with HR and department heads to create accurate and comprehensive job descriptions that reflect the roles and responsibilities of each position.
• Assess job descriptions to determine whether positions should be classified as exempt or non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and other relevant regulations.
• Identify and minimize potential legal claims related to job descriptions and employment practices.
• Provide guidance on best practices for job description writing, including language that promotes inclusivity and compliance.

Minimum Skills Required:

• A background in employment law, either through education (law degree or related coursework) or practical experience.
• Strong understanding of federal and state employment laws, including FLSA regulations.
• Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts in clear, accessible language.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all written materials.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Previous experience in HR or legal consulting is a plus.
