Job Position: Lead Print Equipment Operator (NIGHTS)

Job Location: Stone Mountain, GA

Reports To: Production Supervisor

Job Summary:

Leads Print Equipment Operators that tend, performs basic operator maintenance and repair of printer(s) that print on produce disposable foam cups, bowls and containers.

Core Job Responsibilities:
  • Meets and communicates with either on coming or off going Print Lead to review current issues such as quality, housekeeping or any changes needed.
  • Reviews daily operations plan with the Shift Supervisor to ensure that all required changes to schedule are implemented so that production needs are met. Keeps Shift Supervisor informed as to overall status of assigned area during shift.
  • Immediately stops production in the event inferior product is being produced.
  • Diagnose and determine cause for machine problems. Repairs and maintains print machines.
  • Perform equipment change-over while ensuring that the proper change-over parts are installed and adjustments are made to specifications.
  • Clean change-over parts removed during a print change and return them to the print storage area along with tagging any defective parts.
  • Provide the shift supervisor with samples of new items and obtain approval prior to beginning production.
  • Maintain an adequate supply of inks, labels and bulk products by the print machines to facilitate production.
  • Comply with all safety rules, polices, procedures and practices to include performing lock-out/tag-out of print equipment when required.
  • Verifies compliance of print checks by Print Equipment Operator.
  • Diagnose and follows up on needed repairs to ensure that machine maintenance is completed on schedule.
  • Enforces all work area and safety regulations are complied with along with housekeeping standards being maintained.
  • Follow all GMP and sanitation guidelines along with maintaining a high level of personal hygiene.
  • Attends and lead team meetings as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor.
Competencies:
  • Ability to follow directives with STM leadership, managers, supervisors, in ensuring productivity and target levels are sustained.
  • Ensures all company policies and procedures including manufacturing and safety policies and procedures are followed at all times.
  • Collaboration with plant, safety, and leadership.
  • Ability to complete mandated new manufacturing training on equipment to maximize output efficiencies.
  • Supports all current and new product modifications and introductions.

Qualifications:

Education - High School Diploma or GED preferred

Experience: Two (2) years in a manufacturing environment.


Bi-lingual individual is strongly preferred

Skills - Basic computer skills (i.e. Excel, Microsoft Office, etc.). Good oral and written communication skills. Must be able to read, write and speak English

Working Conditions:
  1. In-doors in a manufacturing and/or environment that is not air-conditioned.
  2. Exposure to extreme heat.
  3. Wear PPE while working which includes hairnet, hearing protection and safety glasses with side guards.
  4. May work 8 hour shift or 12 hour shift that begins at 6:50 a.m. for dayshift or a nightshift that begins 6:50 p.m.
  5. Required to work weekdays, weekends and overtime as needed.
  6. Subject to on-call activity to ensure equipment is functional.
Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  1. Work 8 or 12-hour shift while standing, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, grasping and lifting throughout the entire shift.
  2. Requires the manual movement of cases of finished goods and other objects such as bagger film that weight up to 40 pounds.
  3. 100% tobacco free workplace on all Company premises. Designated outside smoking area provided and must be followed.
