Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Facilities Manager to oversee the upkeep and operations of our camp facilities in the Kerrville, TX area. This role requires a hands-on leader who can maintain buildings, grounds, and equipment while ensuring a safe and functional environment for campers, staff, and visitors.

The ideal candidate will be versatile, resourceful, and comfortable managing everything from daily maintenance to long-term improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee maintenance and repair of cabins, lodges, dining halls, recreational areas, and camp infrastructure.
  • Develop and manage preventive maintenance schedules for buildings, vehicles, and equipment.
  • Supervise seasonal and year-round maintenance staff, as well as coordinate work with outside vendors and contractors.
  • Maintain camp utilities (plumbing, electrical, water systems, septic, HVAC, etc.) and ensure they are in safe working order.
  • Oversee care of camp vehicles, machinery, and tools (tractors, mowers, golf carts, etc.).
  • Ensure campgrounds, trails, and outdoor activity areas are safe, clean, and well-kept.
  • Assist in planning and executing capital improvements, renovations, and facility upgrades.
  • Monitor compliance with safety codes, health standards, and environmental regulations.
  • Respond to facility-related emergencies in a timely and effective manner.
  • Maintain records of maintenance activities, inspections, and inventory.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of facilities, maintenance, or property management experience; camp, retreat, or hospitality environment experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance.
  • Ability to operate and maintain small machinery and power tools safely.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to train and supervise maintenance staff and volunteers.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
