The Intel IDC Data Platforms team is looking for an intern interested in pursuing a career in Big Data and Analytics platform engineering. We enable Intel’s vision for software and advanced technology by delivering open and secure software platforms, driving industry standards, and ensuring that software is a powerful competitive differentiator for the company.

As an intern in the Data Platforms Engineering team, you’ll be a hands-on capability and platform engineer who will be collaborating with global teams enabling new capabilities and platform services. You will gain experience in Cloud based technologies, Big Data technologies (i.e., Kubernetes, Spark, Airflow, Trino, etc.) Kubernetes platform automation and monitoring, securing clusters, programming, and scripting languages (i.e., Golang, Python). The duration of the internship will be a minimum of 6 to 9 months.

The ideal candidate will also bring a diverse skill set in the following but not limited to:

+ Experience with Agile, DevOps, CI/CD capabilities.

+ Experience in reporting tools.

+ Leadership, critical thinking, excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.

+ Problem-solving and analytical.

Qualifications

You must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Relevant experience can be obtained through schoolwork, classes and project work, internships, military training, and/ or work experience.

Minimum Qualifications

The candidate must have obtained a bachelor’s in computer science or related and working towards a master’s degree focusing on Computer Science or related computational discipline.

Minimum 3+ months experience or coursework in the following:

+ Python programming

+ Kubernetes

+ Data engineering

Preferred Qualifications

+ Golang programming experience or coursework

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, Colorado, New York, Washington, California: $63,000.00-$166,000.00

*Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience

Working Model

This role is available as a fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need. This role may also be available as our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
