Duties

During their careers, special agents carry out assignments in investigations and protection, often at multiple duty stations across the U.S. and abroad. Responsibilities include:

• Providing protection for various protectees.
• Conducting criminal investigations related to financial obligations of the United States.
• Planning and implementing security designs for National Special Security Events.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to carry and use a firearm; firearm proficiency is mandatory.
• Age between 21 and 37 at the time of conditional offer (exceptions apply for prior federal law enforcement service and veterans).
• Obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance.
• Uncorrected visual acuity no worse than 20/100 binocular; corrected to 20/20 or better.
• Hearing loss must not exceed 25 decibels in the specified ranges.
• Submit to drug testing before appointment and during employment.
• Complete 13 weeks of training at FLETC in Glynco, GA, and 18 weeks at the James J. Rowley Training Center in Laurel, MD.
• Willingness to accept assignments nationwide and abroad.
• Register with the Selective Service System if applicable.
