Job Description
The Plasma Table CNC Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC plasma cutting equipment to produce precision metal parts according to engineering drawings and specifications. This role requires strong attention to detail, technical skill, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Set up and operate CNC plasma cutting machines to cut steel, aluminum, and other metals per work orders and blueprints.
Load and unload metal sheets or plates onto the plasma table using forklifts.
Interpret engineering drawings, CAD files, and cut lists to ensure accurate cutting dimensions.
Perform basic programming, nesting, and adjustments to CNC files as needed.
Inspect finished parts for accuracy using measuring tools (calipers, tape measures, etc.).
Maintain equipment cleanliness and perform basic preventive maintenance.
Identify and troubleshoot cutting issues such as poor edge quality or incorrect kerf width.
Collaborate with fabrication and welding teams to ensure efficient workflow.
Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
