About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Risk Officer (CRO) to lead the development and execution of risk strategies that align with the organization's credit culture and business objectives. The CRO will be responsible for three key areas: credit culture and decisions, design and review of tax credit allocation and investments, and enterprise risk management. This executive will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the company's risk management practices are in line with its mission of creating inclusive access to capital and will be tasked with leading a team to manage credit, tax credit, and enterprise risk. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the finance industry, particularly in a community development or CDFI setting, and must be deeply committed to the values of the organization.

Candidates for the CRO position at the company should have a minimum of 10-15 years' of experience in the finance industry, with a preference for those who have worked in a CDFI or community development financial institution. A Bachelor's degree is required, with an advanced degree in financial management being preferred. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of executive leadership, creating new credit programs, and managing risk in a regulated financial environment. Strong analytical, credit, and risk management skills are essential, as is the ability to balance risk with the organization's impact goals. The role demands a leader who can work independently, is adept at using technology, and is capable of fostering a culture of execution excellence and inclusiveness within the team.
