Job Description: Brown University Athletics is seeking candidates for multiple Athletics Statistician positions. This role assists the athletics communications staff in keeping live statistics at athletic events. Located in Providence, Rhode Island, and a member of the Ivy League, our intercollegiate athletics program includes 34 varsity teams with approximately 1,000 athletes participating within the NCAA-DI. All division employees must demonstrate exemplary ethical conduct and conform to NCAA rules and regulations. Duties are to be performed in compliance with all NCAA and Ivy League rules, and any violations must be reported to the appropriate authorities. Employees in coaching positions are required to receive annual NCAA rules education and maintain current AED/CPR and First Aid certifications, which are provided at no cost through the division. Job duties include but are not limited to: Input or call every statistical occurrence at athletic events using either stat crew or genius stats systems. Assist athletic communications staff with other game day needs as they arise. Submit statistical packages to NCAA, Conference offices, and competing teams. Entry into the candidate pool requires: Knowledge of or willingness to learn both stat crew and genius stat systems. Ability to work quickly and accurately under extreme time pressure. Comprehensive knowledge of sports rules and regulations. Ability or willingness to learn specific game protocols related to Ivy League and NCAA rules. Ability to interact with game officials, Athletic Communications staff, Event Management staff, and Marketing and Promotions staff during events. Observation and quick reaction skills to accurately input game stats. Support for a diverse and inclusive environment.
