About the Role:

The Activity Director plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in a healthcare or social assistance setting. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing engaging activity programs that cater to the diverse interests and needs of the residents. Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy, Social Work, or a related field or completion of 36 hour Activity Director's course.
  • Experience working with elderly or disabled populations in a healthcare or social assistance setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in program development and evaluation in a healthcare environment.
  • CPR certification

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement a comprehensive activity program that meets the needs and preferences of residents.
  • Coordinate and schedule daily activities, ensuring a variety of options that promote engagement and participation.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of activity programs and make adjustments based on resident feedback and changing needs.
  • Collaborate with staff, families, and community resources to enhance the activity offerings and ensure a holistic approach to resident care.
  • Maintain accurate records of participation and outcomes to report on the success of the activity programs.
